Q1. How can I learn more about the SIMS MBA program? +
In addition to reviewing our FAQ site, we invite you to Visit our campus. We welcome and encourage prospective candidates to visit SIMS. Visitors can observe classes, attend an information session conducted by an admissions officer and meet our current students who will be glad to help you with any information that you need to know about SIMS.
Q2. What is the cost of the full-time MBA program? Is financial aid available? +
SIMS has a very affordable fee structure. The fee structure depends on whether you are a student from PGCET or Management Quota. THERE IS NO CAPITATION FEES. The fee is also payable in four installments. Once you fill in the online application form and send it to us, the fee structure will be indicated to you. The Institute helps in assisting you to avail bank loan facilities. All documents that are required to complete the loan processing shall be assisted by the Institute.
Q3. What is the timeline for applying? +
The admission for the Batch 2012 has already begun and students have been completing admission process. We allow both PGCET aspirants and KMAT/MAT aspirants to have a Provisional Admission prior to the entrance examination. The final process can be completed after the receipt of results.
Q4. How will my application be evaluated? +
Each application received is reviewed in depth by the Admissions Board.� When selecting students we put an emphasis on leadership potential, strong academic ability, and personal qualities and characteristics.
Do you give any preference to Work experience?+
Yes, we definitely give preference to students who have work experience. Our past batches have had a good blend of students from different spectrums with experience in various capacities.
Q5. What entrance tests should I take? +
If you are keen on Government quota, then you should be taking the PGCET examination scheduled for June/July 2012 (Please refer to www.kea.kar.nic.in). In case you are not eligible through PGCET, you can opt for the Management Quota. In any case, you can block a seat before the entrance examination.
Q6. Does SIMS require a minimum KMAT/MAT score? +
No. SIMS has no minimum requirements of KMAT/MAT. However, the average scores for the 2011 batch have been 500. KMAT/MAT scorecard is just one criterion that our Institute considers for enrolling students. Our focus is more on the student's potential, interest and commitment towards the MBA programme.
Q7. What materials are required to submit an application to the SIMS? +
You are required to bring along with you the following documents while you submit your application. One set of photocopy of marks cards - 10th, 12th / PUC, Degree marks cards Five photographs (passport size) Address proof of the parent.
Q8. Can I meet with an admissions officer to discuss the MBA Program at SIMS? +
Yes. The admissions officers will counsel students individually with any queries. We encourage you to take advantage of our on-campus information sessions in order to speak to an admissions officer and have your questions answered.
Q9. What do students do beyond the classroom activities at SIMS? +
Students at SIMS are very active in a wide range of extracurricular activities. The student clubs fosters a sense of competition and allow students to develop their leadership skills. These activities focus on a variety of student interests including professional development, sports, arts, and building competence.

Also, students work closely with their peer group and faculty to complete assignments, dissertation projects, presentations and Inter-collegiate management competitions throughout the year. They are equally involved in Community Relations to connect themselves with the down-trodden in the society.
Q10. If admitted for the MBA programme, am I expected to pay a tuition deposit? +
Yes. Admitted students pay a tuition deposit of Rs.25, 000 to hold their place in the class. This amount will be adjusted towards the total fee payable to the Institute.
Q11. Suppose I get 1 or 2 marks lesser than the aggregate requirements, am I eligible for the MBA programme? +
No, you should necessarily have 50% aggregate of the three years of your degree examination. This includes all the subjects of the three years along with languages. Even if your aggregate is less than one or two marks, you are not eligible for the Bengaluru University MBA programme.
